Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? Reach out and we'll help.
What's the difference between Solo and Studio?
Solo is limited to 3 projects and includes Stripe as the only payment processor. Studio supports up to 10 projects and adds Authorize.net, Clover, and Square — plus social login (SSO) via Google and GitHub, and all four homepage layout variants. Agency removes the project cap entirely and adds priority support.
Can I build stores for clients or use it commercially?
Yes — all license tiers include commercial use rights and white-label rights. You can build and deploy stores for your own business or for clients under any tier. The only limit is the number of active production projects (3 for Solo, 10 for Studio, unlimited for Agency).
What counts as a 'project'?
A project is one production deployment — typically a single storefront on its own domain. Local development environments and private staging URLs do not count toward your project limit.
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
No. Open Sky Commerce is self-hosted — you pay for your own hosting and third-party services (DigitalOcean, Stripe, SendGrid, etc.). Search is powered by SwiftSearch, our built-in engine, so there's no third-party search bill. No per-transaction fees or monthly platform charges from us.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes — you host it yourself, so you have full control over your domain, DNS, and SSL configuration.
What happens after my support period ends?
You can continue using the code independently with our documentation and community resources. Solo includes 30 days of email support, Studio includes 60 days, and Agency includes 12 months plus priority response. To extend support after it expires, contact us and we'll sort something out.
